Vellex Computing Showcased Grid Compute Platform at 2023 PG&E Innovation Pitch Fest

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Vellex Computing recently participated in the 2023 PG&E Innovation Pitch Fest, focusing on Supply and Load Management. The event, held on September 14th in San Ramon, CA, provided a platform for Vellex to present their revolutionary Grid Compute platform.

Their presentation highlighted the compute platform's potential to revolutionize grid optimization and management. The platform is a programmable analog neural compute platform designed to solve complex optimization problems, such as real-time AC/DC Optimal Power Flow (OPF), multi-period day-ahead distribution system OPF, mixed integer programs, and other advanced compute-heavy optimization problems, much faster and more efficiently than existing solutions.

For PG&E, the compute platform offers several key benefits:

*   Deeper insights into their resource portfolio: The platform enables PG&E to quickly model thousands of scenarios, providing valuable insights into the reliability, economic implications, and utilization impacts of their existing resources.

*   Comprehensive evaluation of environmental effects: Our technology allows for the accurate and swift simulation of long-duration assets, such as battery storage and co-located generation, enabling PG&E to make informed decisions that align with their sustainability goals.

*   Augmented ability to forecast market price dynamics: The platform's powerful optimization capabilities enable PG&E to predict market energy prices and perform multi-period day-ahead distribution system optimization.

The Vellex team demonstrated how their platform can empower PG&E to optimize grid deployments, integrate diverse energy sources, and support their sustainability goals.

Vellex Computing was founded by Dr. Palak Jain and Dr. Jason Poon in September 2020 as a spin-off from Stanford University. The leadership team brings over 10 years of experience in bringing deep tech to market and semiconductor and circuit design, respectively.
