Vellex selected for NSF Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 1

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the highly competitive National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant. This milestone marks a significant recognition of our pioneering work in developing physics-inspired computing solutions that transform the way complex control and optimization problems are solved.

The NSF SBIR program supports deep-technology startups with the potential to make a broad societal impact. For Vellex Computing, this grant provides both validation of our vision and critical resources to accelerate the development of our computing platform, which enables real-time optimization and control while consuming only a fraction of the energy required by conventional computing architectures.

Driving Efficiency and Sustainability

Modern industries rely heavily on optimization - whether it’s stabilizing power grids, improving autonomous systems, or enhancing supply chain operations. Traditional computing often struggles with the complexity and speed required for these problems, leading to inefficiencies, high costs, and massive energy consumption.

Vellex Computing’s platform introduces a physics-based approach that makes control and optimization not only faster and more reliable but also significantly more energy-efficient. This innovation directly aligns with global priorities to build sustainable, resilient, and intelligent infrastructure.

A Step Toward the Future of Computing

The NSF SBIR Phase I grant empowers Vellex to expand its research, deepen collaborations, and demonstrate the broad applicability of its platform across real-world use cases. By rethinking the foundations of computation, Vellex is working to build technologies that drive progress without compromising sustainability.
